Meet Sarah

Hi, I’m Sarah Gerhardt

I teach yoga, meditation, herbal medicine, and ecological living and run a small herbal products business. My passion in life is to empower others to become their own healers through spiritual practice, herbal medicine, and ecological lifestyle practices.

I came into my spiritual practice out of necessity to find meaning and peace from the difficulties I’d experienced.

As a child of divorced parents, a father who was an addict, who also spent time in prison, and a sibling with a mental illness, growing up had its challenges. By the time I was 21 I’d had a dozen friends and family members pass away. And as an adult I struggled with chronic lyme disease all while death continued to be a constant companion.

I was left questioning what all the pain and suffering I experienced was for and how to find happiness.

Over the last decade I’ve studied Yoga, Buddhist philosophy, herbal medicine, and ecological design. From these ancient traditions I used what I learned to transform suffering into joy. My practice is what keeps me grounded even during the most difficult of times.

During the darkest moments my connection to nature and my meditation practice have kept me steady.

Pain is inevitable, but it doesn’t mean we have to suffer constantly. My hope is to support you in your own journey of healing and living from your own unique essence and joy.

Why I changed my name from
Sarah Keown Yoga to Sarah Living Yoga

  • My teaching encompasses all aspects of Yoga and how we apply them to living our daily life.

  • I wanted a name that could represent not just Yoga but my passions in Herbal Medicine and Ecological Living.

I envision a world in which we live in harmony with nature’s rhythms and in turn deepen our relationship with ourselves.
